Was there from 8am till 2pm. Covered pretty much everything from Palmer to the GN bridge. No whites today. Met two other fishermen, they reported the same. However, if a fellow was inclined to go after the channel cats or the bluegill, he'd have good luck. After it was clear the whites were'nt coperating, I decided to do some proper, sit down, redneck fishing. Caught 12 cats 1-2lbs, and a half dozen good bluegill. Cleaned and distributed the cats to my eldery nieghbors, and had the bluegill for dinner. It was worth the gas and the drive I guess. I Think we're still several days away from hot action, but the good news is that the river levels are right where they need to be for it to happen. My buddies have nicknamed that hike the "Trail of tears", and for good reason! -Dr.B.
