Yep, it's possible. He'll be the Nick Saban of college basketball.
I'll have to have a special recycling bin in my garage for all of the junk mail I'll get from UK wanting a good ole alum like me to support my alma mater and donate money to the K Fund and such...I'm sure the fund raising will get ramped up after this deal, and I'm not talking about bake sales and selling candy bars. lol
Come on in Cal, you slimy guido looking mobster you...Mitch made you a deal you couldn't refuse, ah? Bring Cousins, and Wall, and a couple of those other Memphanites with you...we'll take em...
THE BLUE IS BACK!
I agree 100% I think it is only a matter of time before he gets caught with his hand in the cookie jar.I will say this about him....he can coach and he can recruit.
I think he is a greasy slime ball and do not like him at all, but he will probably turn UK around. Now, if anybody wants to check, he never won a Conference USA title when Louisville, Cincy and Marquette were in the league and only started the Memphis domination after thse three school had left for the Big East. I still maintain that he is an NCAA infraction waiting to happen, he has already been stripped of the 1996 Final Four.
BTW, if John Chaney and Calipari got in a fight I would pray for them to both lose!
With the kind of money they are going to pay him he better have some big wins and fast.
If i'm not mistaken didn't Calipari just arrive at Memphis a year prior to U of L leaving Conference USA. If so then how could he have gotten his type of Team going in the league to try for a Conference Title.......?
Ha Ha, too funny, yea he had a direct pipeline of players from the Tennessee Penal system, LOL!
I hope cal is the one, I wanted him to be the coach ever since pitino left. I think that would be some serious powerhouse schools. Pitino at UL and Calipari at UK. Sounds like a winner to me.
No announcement yet that I'm aware of but they have the new shirts ready for print. Somethong about the past and fear the future, you know I'll have one.
I do sence some fear on the ol' board.
Stoner
Now Stoner, relax, U of L fans are not afraid of Cal, after all we saw how he has stacked up against Pitino in the past and we know how he did in C-USA when Louisville was still a member.
Mills, this is for you, Memphis and Cal choking away the C-USA tourney on their HOME COURT! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-cqlbqJFWM
Clyde, Google is your friend, try searching Cal's record and Harry potter's record against Louisville. When Cal took over at Memphis, Denny Crum was still the coach!
You have to be careful using that type of logic. He may not have beat Pitino a lot while at Memphis but that doesn't necessarily mean he won't beat them if he becomes the head man at UK. Memphis may of not had the horses back then. For a recent example of what I'm talking about, look at Coach Anderson at Missouri - he rarely beat Calipari while he was at the helm at UAB, but first whack at him at Missouri - sweet 16 victory. Now Stoner, relax, U of L fans are not afraid of Cal, after all we saw how he has stacked up against Pitino in the past and we know how he did in C-USA when Louisville was still a member.

No, mostly coach Anderson was at UAB beating UK in the NCAA tourney LOL!
I'm thinking UK just fired their DAVIS, and is getting ready to Hire their SAMPSON........I hope not..........REALLY HOPE NOT.
Should have stayed with Tubby Smith..........even though he was not even 1/2 the coach that Knight was.
Later,
