Western Kentucky University Bass Club Looking For Support

You may or may not be familiar with collegiate bass fishing, but for those of you who are not, it is an up and coming collegiate sport and is growing rapidly. We are a group of college students that have formed a club to provide avid college sportsmen opportunities to experience the great outdoors with other individuals our own age, share stories, and the opportunity to compete against schools across the nation. There is one major problem for our club. We are tight on money and some of us are scrambling for money to go fishing, often sacrificing things to gain more time on the water! I do not want to make it sound that we are incompetent anglers or inexperienced. We are in fact the opposite, we have very successful tournament anglers in our club, but when it comes to buying products and traveling expenses, money is tight. As I said, we are in college! Right now, we want to establish relationships with companies and individuals to hopefully raise money to help fund our college angler’s trip to the National Championship in Texas, along with all of the collegiate regional events throughout the 2009 season. It is very pricey for us to travel, and I am hoping that you will see the marketing opportunity in sponsoring us. Sponsoring our team is a great marketing opportunity because it is televised on multiple national television networks, such as ESPN2, ESPNU, VERSUS NETWORK, and FOX COLLEGE SPORTS NETWORK. Our club is one of the most successful teams with impressive finishes and we remain in the spotlight, in view of the cameras. Along with your logo on our tournament shirt, we will also in return for your generosity, promote your company during seminars we give at local fishing stores and wear your logo at local tournaments. I am confident a sponsorship will positively benefit both parties. Please PM or email me if you or someone you know would be interested in helping out our collegiate bass fishing team.

Best of luck man... We are hurting as well... With the way things are going now it is hard to find sponsors anymore... We have been getting a lot of help from different small companies but it is very small amounts and is a start... These trips keep getting more expensive every time!!! Hope to see you out there... Cole

    Things are tough all over....

Volunteering and charity work will help your club out more than anything. Sponsors look more for a return on they're investment, whether it's through product exposure in tournaments, or through recognition in the community. If you have a portfolio of good things that your club has accomplished beyond fishing, you'll fare far better in the whole sponsorship game.

Right now, instead of asking others for help, you should be asking how you can help them.....
