    KY Lake April 24-26

We've got our yearly 3 day trip down to KY lake coming up. I always follow the reports/post leading up to our trip, but it seems like this year things have caught fire earlier than normal down there. Any opinions on what the bite will be like in late April, barring bad weather... Thanks... I'm just chomping at the bit to get down there.

We go down the last week of April every year and always think things are turning on too early but seem to always have a good trip. I go to fish the bushes and flowers so you almost have to wait that long. You will be fine.

It was the same way last year good fish were caught early and went on thru May you'll be OK. I can't wait for the end of April and I live here.

I'm heading down that same weekend 4/24-26. When you guys say the bushes and flowers... what exactly do you mean? What flowers? I assume they'll be moved back and guarding fry by then..... You guys flippin', running a spinner through there, or am I way off?

Bushes = self explainatory, Flowers = You see the yellow flowers blooming in the fields right now? well they are all along the water also and as the water comes up these flowers are put into the water and for some reason fish are attracted to them. At the end of April you will have fish Pre-Spawn, Post Spawn and Spawning all three.

Spinnerbait, jig or just about anything you can get in there. Brush hogs work great also.

I'll be down the same week and we always catch allot of fish. Last year the flood killed the flowers (To my knowledge), and generally u have nice weather too. U should be able to catch pre, current and post fish at that time. Last year at that week the temp dropped a bit and they pulled out a little bit, or the fish i found did on the northern end, and we had a ball..
