Congrats to you and her. Man, that's great. Only thing better than fishing is fishing with family. From what I've been hearing the musky are wound up this year, on Green.

Went to Green today. Not a bad day overall. Took my wife. It was her first fishing trip all year. She doesn't go much. So I decided to go after spots on the bluffs. Pretty easy bite and usually catch alot of fish and man do they fight. Well next thing I know I look over and her riod loads up. Drag starts ripping. 6lb test on a spinning reel using a Pointer. A five minute fight later it ends up being a 40" musky. This is the biggest fish she has ever caught. Her next biggest fish is like an 11" crappie. It ends up being a good day even after that. We caught sveral nice spots and one smallmouth. Water temps were in 54-57 degree range. Fished main lake bluffs. I used spinnerbaits and she used a Lucky Craft Pointer.
Congrats to you and her. Man, that's great. Only thing better than fishing is fishing with family. From what I've been hearing the musky are wound up this year, on Green.
A fella caught a 10 pound walleye this past Monday on Green...pictures on Lakecumberland.com
Good deal guy I wish my wife would go with me, then maybe she would understand why i like everything with gills![]()
I say leave the wife at home and take your girl friend. Thats just my opinion.
Fished a tournament on the 28th and we caught several fish. My partner landed a huge musky and I almost landed the biggest one I have ever seen. This thing was HUGE! In all I lost 3 musky and boated lots of nice bass.
The craziest thing, I caught what I thought was a nice smallmouth. The fish was so pale you could not see its colors. When I pulled the fish out of the bag to weigh-in, you could clearly see it was a HUGE Kentucky Spotted bass. This monster weighed in at 4.71 pounds.
Before I released it I handed my partner my cell phone to snap a picture, then I released the fish only to find out he closed my phone and did not save the pic. Sorry Todd, I had to throw you under the bus. LOL
Awesome report, thanks.
That was a nice spott. we didnt catch that much that day. There was also a 7.99 LM weighed in to.
I read about WwiskerswW spot on the usa bassin web site. That kinda got me fired up about going to Green. That was a pig. I am glad to hear you released it. My wifes musky was released also.
Bruce and I were doing that weigh-in. I was zeroing the scale when he said I needed to come look at a fish. When he held it up, I didn't know what to make of it. I've never seen a spot that size, and it looked like someone had crammed a football inside a fish. It wasn't very long, but my goodness was it fat.
After that and the 7.99 pound LM, I'm still kicking myself for forgetting to pack my camera. I would have had 2 great pics to put up. You better believe the camera will be in the truck for our next event.

I was out a couple weeks ago and caught what i thought was a monster spot....put her in the livewell so i could get pictures at the ramp and when i pulled her back out it was a smallmouth? I've caught several smallies and had never seen one that pale....guess those things can fool ya from time to time.... I caught a 43" muskie last year and my partner landed one in our green river bass club tourny that dwarfed the 43.....id say it was a solid 47-48" fish...I also saw a 4+ spot weighed in one of our saturday night tournies last year....that lake is full of surprises
I am still kicking myself for not fishing the usa bassin tourmanent the 28th @ green. Thursday I caught a smallmouth and a spot that I had to take a second look at it. They both were so pale. Both come below Holmes Bend. Basically no pigment at all. I will not make the same mistake the 18th I will be fishing Green instead of Barren.
Been several guys in this week talking about huge spots this year on green. For all of you tournament guys and gals. I am hosting the Midwest-Sportsman tourney's on green this year, first tourney is saturday april 11, 7am launch time out of site #1.
