    Suggestions for leaking Rivets???

I have an older jon boat that has rivets. The rivets have started to leak some. I have a bilge on the boat so it is not a problem, just more of a nuisance. Anyone have any suggestions for a good way to seal the rivets. I have used caulk before which is a temporay measure, just looking for something that is a little better fix. Thanks for the help.

Put the boat in the water when it is dry, find the leaking rivets and mark them.Have someone hold a heavy tamping bar or the like tightly against one side of the rivet, take a hammer and give the rivet a good pounding.Would help to have a tool with a concave that matches the head of the rivet.

Call me during working hours. I have done this a lot via replacing or tightening rivets.
I have a lot of info on how to do it and where to get the supplies. Too much to type.
Very inexpensive to do but can take some time.

If you know anyone who works for a natural gas company ask them if they can get the sticks they use for patching the pipeline coating. Clean around the rivet, melt the stuff on it with a propane torch. It works like a charm. It may be the same stuff the folks were talking about getting from Cabella

I've used that before, and it works GREAT.

I purchased mine from the boat show a couple years ago, and still have 4 or 5 of the 10 pack rods.
