In late October, we caught and released a boat load of hybrids while jug fishing with chicken livers. We placed a sinker up about 6" from the hook and the jug line was about 4-5 ft long. If you want to have some fun, try catching a jug with a big hybrid or striper on it. It's like trying to catch a rocket that dives underwater and comes up on the other side of the boat or 50 ft. from you.

Our trip was early in the morning, the water was COLD, and the hybrids were really hungry. I wouldn't mind doing it again before the water warms up.

Hmmm Jug fishin is most certainly on my to do list. I bet it was a blast to go chasing after them with a hybrid on the end!!!!!

    Re: Hybirds and Chicken Liver

A few weeks ago me and two buddies went to t-ville and limited out. We only used chicken livers. We went in the middle of the night so all the boat traffic would be gone. They caught fire at about 1:30am. Hybrids fight hard and it was a blast, all 45 of them. We were tight lining with an egg sinker about 4 feet above the hook. We had to have the hook completly covered or they would not hit it. We caught some small ones and some decent ones (about 5 lbs.) but nothing huge.
