    Tornado Sirens!

I think I just heard the test or warning but I could barely hear it due to the wind! Turned on the tele and see it's just a Tornado watch for now but man this wind is unreal. I lost a Pine Tree during the last wind storm I hope I get a break on this one, not many trees left......I hope you all make it through safely.

BTW...Go Tarheels!!!! (good for my brackets)

I talked to my relatives who live near the Gulf of Mexico a few days ago. Two said they had already received 12" of rain, more was to come, and there had been tornadoes in the area.

Last month I went to AL and spent 15 days at my house, noticed some damaged trees and called in the tree surgeons. I'm a tree hugger and can't stand to see trees cut just for the heck of it. I have several large oaks in the yard and ended up having to cut one down and another trimmed. There were 7 other trees at the woodline behind the house that also had to go, all because of storm damage from two years ago. The oak that I lost was near the house and would have fallen on it in high winds. The very next day after I returned to my home in TN, I received a message there had been storms with 60 mph winds and 5" of rain at the place in AL. A cherry tree that I didn't see came down in the wind and missed the storage building by about 15 ft. I hate to think what may have happened if I hadn't taken care of the other trees while I was down there.

With all this crazy weather we're having, I wonder if we aren't about to have a very active hurricane season. BTW snow in the forecast for us Tues. and Tues. night.
