Be nice if that was true. To bad the haydays of turtle creek seem to be long gone. My buddies dad has told me the stories he has from the glory days there. Wish I coulda been there with him.

Rumour on craigslist was that the 10hp limit was lifted and you can now idle any size motor. Can anybody confirm ?

You should always go to the lake's official website for official information.

The same restriction to a max of 10hp applies.
Craig's List is not a good website to get information from.
ole top
Evindently Craigslist is more accurate.
I called the Lake and indeed the HP restriction has been lifted. Call them yourself.

They must be real desperate to get you to fish there then.
Too bad.
Has anyone fished there recently? I know it has went way downhill, but how bad is it now?
I fished it quite abit back in it's haydays and it was indeed awesome but those days are long gone. Nothin but a big mud hole full of channel cats and carp now.
Last time was a few years ago.............and it was a CRAPHOLE.............
I used to fish this lake a TON in the late 80's early 90's.
Too bad the DESTROYED such a fine fishery.

Man I grew up driving that long drive to have my string stretched. I remember fishing a tournament every year in Feb. and it was so much fun. I was 16 or 17 years old and the 14' V bottom we had was like a Z comanche, it had a 8 horse merc and it would wind it up. It was a 2 fish limit tourny and anyone could win. I recently talked with my old Turtle creek partner and he said to leave you bass gear at home and bring chicken liver and night crawlers. Catfish have taken over the lake. He was as serious as I have ever seen him. He was sad and I am too.
The limit was lifted because of the underpowered boats that hunt there in waterfowl season. Big winds were to much for the small motors. A guy got killed up there this winter. I am personally glad to see the 10 hp limit lifted. Now if someone gets in trouble in the winter they can get out!
Twiggy I can remember those days Turtle Creek was great I would make that 2.5-3 hour drive one way and fish as long as I could.Man I grew up driving that long drive to have my string stretched.
