If I were on THE SPOT before you, it would be OUR spot....I don't own any spots, nor do I hold back any spots from any of my clients...you know that as well as anyone. Funny thing is I have probably showed or marked that spot for hundreds of clients over the years but it still does not get much pressure...you just gotta be there at the right time and put that bait in front of one of the big girls that hang out there this time of year. My client's actually had 4 of those big girls on this season and all were lost...it happens but normally we get one for every one we lose...I also hooked and long distance released one myself a couple weeks ago. You are right about not jumping..they are too big to get out of the water..they just come up and waller around and shake their big heads before they make that big run.

Anyway, maybe they will still be there biting when you come back down...but don't count on it...it is time for those big ones to lock down on the beds pretty soon.

Good Luck on your return trip...maybe one of those girls will be a late spawner this year.

P.S. I was not the Dave in Geo's boat..had I been he would have been throwing that certain lure on that certain spot...LOL

One thing about it, the fella at The Cabin sure does know the lure because I bought the peghooks out of it. He may not know the spot, but I am sure he does for if my info is right he just won the tourney on North Barkley the weekend before with a 24lb sack, but he does know what I was throwing and Geo has a "couple" of them now. Bet my last dollar that Geo makes a cast on that bank with that lure EVERY time he hits the lake from now on. I know I did before and I think there is a pretty good chance that I will again.

Don't fish it, for I am telling you when you "GEO" one of those pigs it is hard to get over. I will tell that story for the rest of my life for no way I will ever have another one that big on again. I think Dave Stewart told me once he had landed 3 over 10 in his boat and to consider all the days on the water he spends versus the 2,356,789,457 years he has been fishing, tells me that I had my one shot at "THE ONE". Sort of like my 8+ Smallie I had on in Feb of 2005 with Chunknwind in the boat, that was most likely my "ONE SHOT" at her as well. Bring on the dinks for the rest of my life.

    Elwood,
You just never know, right? Thats why we fish. I will be heading to KY Lake in the morning to prep for the Fishers of Men Tournament on Sat. out of the Moors. I was not going by the Cabin, but now I guess I will. LOL
I will be glad to catch 5 keepers, those biggins are just a bonus. Thanks for the report.
    Good Fishing dude

The Cabin and Fishermans Headquarters in Draffenville are both great bait and tackle shops. Both first class and very competitive in prices with great selection. Fishers of Men out of the Moors and I believe the Jetta out of Ky Dam this weekend will make North Ky even more of a zoo than normal. Good Luck
