    Choke Questions.......

Well I was wondering if I should slip out and buy one of those "Turkey Chokes" they have been advertising for. Right now I just have a full choke in and I plan on shooting Remington Turkey 3" 1250 FPS #5's this year. Do you guys think I will benifit from buying a so called "turkey choke". Are the benifits really that much to justify the cost? Just lookin for some input.

Full is ok with a 10ga or a 3 1/2 12ga but you may need to get a xfull or turkey choke

I shoot a factory full with my 3in mag # 5's Rem, in my 870, it does not have the range that an x full does, and that can hurt you, I will not shoot over 40 with this choke, and this can push it some, I would go with the x full or Turkey choke as they can extend your range some and also are tighter. Good luck, have seen several gobblers with hens latley and heard some gobble this weekend.

    Re: Choke Questions.......

Hey thanks alot. I am planning on going to the range this evening and firing off a few rounds. Most likely I will pick up a turkey choke while I am there. If it will give me a tighter pattern and a longer shot I think it will be worth it to bring home Ol' Boss Tom. Any suggestions on brand?

For the money, a hastings turkey choke tube is a good stand by that I used for years and killed many a turkey. If you are really lookin for something nice I would recommend the comp n choke turkey tubes. I have one in my SBE and it will smoke one out to 60 yards if need be. I hunt almost exclusively with an ole smoke pole now and try to get em close.

PS. I have also heard some guys complement the Primos Jelly Head turkey choke tube but I do not have any experience with them.
