Man, is this ever gonna destroy my foul weather reputation!
I agree, this year I have fished but once and the weather has been my back breaker. Used to be I went and "weathered it". Now, the mere thought of getting soaked, hailed on, facing driving rains, lightning, and twisters, and extreme winds just makes me cringe. What really "P's" me off, is gas prices are down, so not going now seems to me will cost me money when the weather gets nicer, and I decide to go just as the gas spikes.
The only good news, is the bad weather has done enough damage around the house that I've been able to stay busy fixing stuff, and keep my mind occupied. I used to think boating was expensive! The cost of shingling a roof would easily pay for a couple years of fishing.
So, with the weather like it is right now, and until it gets better, I think I'll just let the boat covered, and get ahead on mom's honey-do list as far as possible, paint everything that doesn't move, mess with the landscaping that needs cleared up, fix everything around the house that is even slightly wrong, and then have all that behind me and free weekends when the sun God decides to smile.
