    Largemouth Spawn Migration?

I understand the bass are heading into late prespawn/spawn conditions around most local lakes it seems from reports I've read. I just wanted to see how some of you guys eliminate water. The best way to ask this question is to just use an example. Let's say you have a bay or cove you are wanting to fish and your map shows the old creek channel heading straight up the middle of the bay/cove, far away from both main lake points and secondary points. Would you stay with the channel (with a C-Rig or Jig) all the way back to the spawning flats or would you break off and hit the points and secondary points even if they are not close to the old channel. Thanks for any help.

I would fish the edge where there is cover close to deep water. A lake that I fish has creeks that feed it and the deep water is 15 feet in the middle. When I get bacck far enough that the water is only 5-10 feet deep in the middle then I will cover the entire body of water. All of this depends on the bite too.

Fish always travel using the deepest water available, ie. channels. Now if their is cover on that spot or any deviation, probably will hold fish. Put it to you this way, if their isn't a creek channel near buy, I'm not going to be their fishing...period. If it's a natural lake, use the contour lines (which is harder i think) I'd recommend you take Dave's class, hope this helps.

Todd2, I recommend using a snoopy pole with the lightest line you can find. Fish the cove's with no nearby channel. A lot of times an empty hook really gets the fish... lures are over-rated. Just kidding bro. It's Anthony messing with ya. Good Luck next weekend! Heck, if you decide to take Dave's class, let me know. I'll probably take it with you.

Lol, I didn't know my competition would be lurking around on my posts. J has a Sponge Bob pole, does that count? Thanks fellas, stick with the channel, ignore the points (unless a channel swings by) and when I get back in the 10 foot range the fish will have scattered so hit it all.
