    Sunglasses

I have a question about sunglasses lens colors for fishing? I wear prescripition glasses every waking min. making buying several different pairs to try out not within my buget. So if you could only use one lens color for all your fishing for now on what color would it be and why?

    Thanks, DJ

    Re: Sunglasses

I got prescription glasses last year, the best purchase I have made in while. I didn't even know I needed glasses, but they said I guess my eyes aren't as good as they used to be. I can only get one pair a year on my insurance, so I opted for polarized sunglasses. I debated the color for a while and went with an amber color (more brown than anything) - and I made the right choice. Even in direct bright sun, they are enough shade to keep me comfortable, but I can wear them in low light too. With most of the water color around here, you can see down into it pretty well, better than any other color. I used to have two pairs of sunglasses (a blue mirror for BRIGHT sun, and an amber for sight fishing and general wear). However, I only wear my amber perscription ones now. Also, get the highest grade polarization they offer - you may pay a little more, but well worth it in eliminating reflections.

I wear solar bats, can't afford the price tags of others. They fog at times but they are a ok pair had them for about 3 seasons now. Mossy green is what a lot of folks talk about but amber of copper is what I like for it stills protects on sunny days, yet works on overcast/cloudy days. Only thing about cheap plastic lens that I have is that with my contacts I get optical distortion with some of the cheap glasses. I try to look for a thicker/heavier better grade plastic, and keep them in a soft case when not wearing them. Cuts out on the scratches of throwing them in the seat or console of the boat. Good luck!

I just picked up a pair of Costa's off of ebay. I went with the copper lens. I figured it would be the most versatile lens for fishing lakes in KY.

Check out the Solar Bats I wear them and they are great, but the biggest thing is the owner of the sunglass company is an optometrist and deals with prescriptions every day. As far a prescription polarized sunglasses I doubt you will find any thing better.
I use green lens with mirror finish.

Yeah, the owner is doctor gary nesty. They encourage you to write them and you can even email dr. nesty. The problem is that when you have a problem, they ignore you. I had two pair break in the exact same location on the ear piece. I emailed both the company and dr. nesty two times, yet not once was I contacted by the company, nor did I even get one of those automated emails saying that they got my email. BTW, you submitted your email from their website. This was two years ago, maybe they fixed that problem. If they did, I'm glad I WASTED my money helping everyone else out...LMAO
