The plug goes in from the outside and has a keeper on it so it will not pull out of the opening and it is hollow and full of air so it just floats towards the opening. I still wonder why your auto bilge pump stopped working.

I believe Rangers are unsinkable in the 1970's Forrest Wood went out in a ranger and took a chainsaw to the bow and stern of the boat and cut them in two.there was alot of water in the interior of the boat of course but the foam floatation kept the boat from completly sinking.
