    Monroe

Anyone have luck fishing Monroe this weekend? Fished all day saturday and only caught 3 small keeps along with 5 or 6 shorts...thought they would be biting better in 60 degree water!

I found water from 58-60 degrees. The rain, wind, and clouds all day didn't raise the water temps at all the whole day. The fish were not moved up yet either. Hopefully this week.

I'm new to this, so hello all. But anyways, enjoyed Saturday, my first day out on the water this year, to find zero crappie and 3 small bass. Needless to say, it clear to me I've a lot more to learn about this lake.

    Re: Monroe

Sounds like it was tough for everyone at Monroe this weekend! I fished the USA Bassin tourney there Sat. and weighed in one keeper, and only caught two short ones! The winner and top several all had one big fish. We fished Middle Fork and the main lake...only caught fish on the main lake. We never found water above 58 degrees. Hopefully the warm weather later this week will help the bite pick up! If the lake keeps rising and warming the next few weeks could be lights out!

Our club was down there on Sunday. Our winner had 4 for 12.7 and culled once (we have a 4 fish limit). Second place had 3 fish for right at 7. It went down hill from there. Many people weighed one or two small fish, big fish was only 3.99. Water on the slow side was right at 60 in spots.

    Re: Monroe

Do you want to divulge any info on how they were caught??? We caught our one keeper Sat. on the fastside.....shallow on a lipless crank. However, we fished about every way we knew how. Thanks!

I didn't get a lot of info. All I heard was fishing slow on the fast side. Weather is really going to change before this weekend so I don't know what bite will be there this weekend.

I'm headed to Monroe this weekend...We'll most likely fish the fastside. I'll let you guys know how we do. Skeeter I doubt the bass will be spawning by then...but I guess you never know. If you're looking for that bite start on the slowside if the water isn't too muddy. Good luck!

    Re: Monroe

I fished the slow side and had the worst fishing day that I've had in several years. Fished from 12:30 to 7:00 and never got a strike. Not a bump, fished spinnerbaits, rattletraps, and flipped brush. NOTHING! Saw carp and thats it.
