    Need a better jighead

I am using an Owner stand-up type jig head while fishing Chompers baits. This type of jig head works goood for a fish or two. After a couple of fish the or a couple of rocks the point of the hook has a slight burr. I have been filing the burr off but after that the hook never seems as sharp as out of the package. I am tired off either replacing the hook as often as I am or missing fish!
Does Gamakatsu (sp) make a stand up jig head as I belirve i prefer that hook. Where do I get them. Bass Pro in Clarksville did not have anything gut Owner

    thanks for the help

Are you talking about the Owner stand-up jig that leaves the hook exposed when you rig it? It has a good hook, but I like ones that let you rig them more like a t-rig. A few that I like are spot-stalkers,gopher tackle mushroom head, and jewel baits fin-nesse jig.

Slongs makes the best jig head I have found. They are somewhat hard to find, unless you are in the LBL area, but by far the best I have used (both standard jig heads and shakey heads) with a EWG hook. You may be able to order some from The Cabin or Fisherman's Headquarters if you call and talk to them.

Try the Chomper stand up head. They make them in black and brown and they come is 1/8 oz and 1/4 oz. I've caught tons using this head.

I second that!!! Sean Long and his company make a great stand up jig head that I use every time I am on the water now... He is very flexible in size and make of all of his shakey heads and will do just about any color you could ask for... Very quality tackle and it last a long time until you lose one!! you can check out his site but it is under construction www.slongsfishinglures.com hope this helps...

Also try the spot removers by Buckeye Lures. they come 3/16 to 1/4 and 5/16 and in black, brown and green pumpkin. They have quality hooks and I catch the majority of my fish on these.
