I have a 5200C GPS. When I am running down the lake it just turns off.........you hit power and it powers right back up with no problems. If you are fishing a cove just cruising around with the trolling motor it nevers goes out. Seems like it only happens when your one rough water.....any recommendations? I checked the connections at the battery as well as going in to the back of the unit.

I have a LMS480 and mine did this very thing twice within a week...The first time I looked checked all the wiring and a wire had come apart from a connector...The second time(lastnight) it just went dead while going down the lake so I checked the same wire and it was loose...Just a minor connection problem both times. I say go over your wiring real good and you might find the problem...
I have the same 5200c gps unit and I've had nothing but the best performance out of mine. Matter of fact I use mine also as a gps for my truck and it works great.
Jdogg is right, check your wiring. I don't have this unit, but had my finder doing the same thing. Fixed the connection and no problem since.
