    Struggling

I have a couple of relatives of mine having a hard time fishing the Nolin/Rough circuit of the usabassin club. Does anyone have any ideas?
The eldest is a pretty good fisherman and his son just got into tournament fishing. They stay hard at it, but seem to land only smaller fish. They throw jigs and crankbaits mainly, sometimes spinnerbaits.

    What to do?

For some reason I get the feeling you are somehow related to Harry, and if so, just tell him Wishn said just to stay at home and give it up, he knows there arent any fish in Nolin!

Seems I can't get any decent bass on anything other than plastics also...finessing is the key right now. Not so much luck on craws or jigs right now, but slayed 'em on Rough Sunday on 7" worms, texas rigged. Caught around twenty with 3 at 14", and my partner boated around 25, but not much size weighed in Sunday...big bass went little over 3lbs. Lizards are also a good choice right now. Let me know if this helps any.

    Re: Struggling

Heading down to Nolin to fish the afternoon and into the evening. My plan is to hit every stump/stickup I see from 4 to 12 feet deep. This has paid off good in the past, but need to know what areas to hit. I am 42 years old and been going down there since I was 2 years old and historically the same areas will produce fish about the same time each year. Big thing with Nolin is to be on the water alot to follow the fish in the creeks and know how they are progressing through the spawn and post-spawn. Rough River is not as hard to fish as Nolin, in my opinion.

Working, we have been super busy, and I have been working Saturdays, and some Sundays. Hope to get out soon, or I will go nuts.

    Re: Struggling

There are several people out there that would love to help them.
He should start using the shaky head with a 6" green trick worm touched up with chartreuss on the tail. Fish slowly and once the bait reaches the bottum, give a couple of small twitches. You will get slammed if you are patient enough. Also another good color is pumpkinseed. My favorite is green.

Please remember any rock you can find, there should be a bass around.
