Ohh yeah them hybrids are some mean beast. I go to barren and fish for em and it's a blast! As for Cumberland many accidental stockings seems pretty feaseable..... If you want to call them "accidental" lol

long winded explanation aside....heres some food for thought....an "accidental" stocking would lead one to believe it was a one time thing, an "oh-no look what we did" kind of thing. so if that was truly the case then how do you catch a 26 inch true hybrid one morning and a 15 inch true hybrid the next morning? theres a few age classes between the 2 fish....which would indicate there have been multiple "accidental stockings"? just sayin lol....Thanks for clearing that up stripernut. I've just always heard people say there wasn't hybrids in there but that picture peter posted clearly showed a difference. I believe that an accidental stocking happened, it's not surprising at all. Again thanks for your post.
i for one dont mind hooking into a true hybrid...they are mean to the bone! they bury the rod in the holder so violently you have to struggle just to get it out of the holder...for me i get a big kick out of watching someone that doesnt get a lot of opportunity to fish get their butt kicked!!! a big striper does it too but the hybrid just does it with a lot more disrepect lol.

I've caught a few hybrids out of Cumberland as well, but I don't think there has ever been an "accidental" stocking. I think the stripes and whites just spawn a few naturally once in a while.
I dont "think" .....I KNOW.....I was told in those exact words...."accidental". I had witnesses. I will not divulge the kydfwr person that said this, that is their business if they so choose
Hey Andrew , What's up with you these days ?Its been sporatic for me this year. I've got at least one almost every time out, but had to work for them. Got my first topwater one on Friday night. Everything else has been subsurface. Hopefully we'll get some stable conditions for the rest of May and actually get some decent action. Watch the debris if you go!
Andrew
Still debris in Cumberland ? It should have been gone by now, must had a lot of rain.

I'm out on the lake right now nothing along the shore moved out to lake followed fish. 2 strippers 8 and 11. 2 small mouth 3 and 5 1/2. All on chrome/black spooks. Going to start pounding the shore. Does anyone know the on possession limits I plan on fishing 2-3 days. Can I keep fish in my vehicle above the daily limit.
Another smaller hybrid out of LC this holiday weekend. Jeff holding it.
Could be a White. With the fish held like it is with the jaw pulled down it distorts things a bit. Jeff who fishes McAlpine a lot where there are whites, hybrids and stripers said without a question a hybrid. I thought so too. We didn't really pose the white bass question, however all the white bass I have ever caught had a very "white Bassy" looking forehead (if you know what I mean) with more radical changes in curvature than the hybrid. More like the one shown here. This definitely did not have that look. I do remember fishing McAlpine and sometimes not being totally sure if I had a very big white bass or a small hybrid but I could usually tell by the shape of the forehead. It just did not look like a white bass to us. Don't think I would bet a nickel either way.
Has any body caught a white bass this year at LC (lake). Would be interesting to know.
If you have and you have a photo see if you can post it here.
Thanks
