All I'm going to say for sure is, I think that at a certain size it's hard to tell if it's a big white or a small hybrid. That way I can't be wrong LOL.

If that's a white then maybe they need to include whites in the unofficial combined hybrid and Striper size and number limits I have heard about here to avoid even further confusion. Is it a Striper or a hybrid or is it a hybrid or white? Lol

We just put it back in and rebated the rod as quickly as possible. Isn't fishin great!

peter, ive caught a bunch of whites this year, actualy sent you a pic of a pile of them and some stripes too the other day. i will re-text the pic today. they are laying side by side, and both species have "some" broken lines
the fish in your pic is a white bass.

hybrids have broken lines.....so do some white bass.....so do some stripers. broken lines do not automatically make a fish a hybrid, check the tongue patch for positive fish identification.

OR....throw it back quick! get baited up and back in the water as quick as possible !

    whites/hybrids or baby stripers

Wednesday day I was fishing shallow water up the river was catching smallies and a school of fish came into the flats. I was catching them on rooster tails. First couple looked like baby stripers the next few looked like whites probably caught 20 these fish were 8"-10" long
