You know I allway's have a open seat for ya brother, I been thinking about gettin one of them vacum packers I think there about 60$ at Kroger. That would keep them skips about the best I think other than fresh.
The river looks even better today and the boats are STACKED up down there right now. At least 7 or 8 that I can see.
They just got POURED on but the sun is out and shining right now and I am completely jelous!
hey mark , it was nice to meet you down at the falls on sunday, eric
I was one of the guys that got poured on. At least I had my rain jacket. My partner just got soaked. Yep, the sun then came out and all was well.
We had some "mushy" liver so our bait wasn't the greatest. We did manage to catch a bunch of cats.
Lots of rough fish rolling all over the place. It looked like a pod of dolphins surfing out there !!
Asian Carp mostly.
Sometime I wish I could just blow em all up when they are that thick up there like that.
I have a BAD feeling that these guys are going to cause a serious problem for us in the next 2-3years.
Jason, I think it's allready pretty bad , a couple years ago I walked over on the rock below the second dam when they had it shut down looking for some shad. When I got right behind the dam there were hundreds of them, all 2 to 4ft long everywhere. The guy's up on the dam with a better view where shouting at me saying look at that. I just nodded and threw my 1oz rooster tail out for some fun, when it hit the water it was like a bomb going off , they shot out of there some airborne ....scary stuff right there...Sad part is we can't even snagg for them anymore on the Ind. side so they have the run of the mill.Chuck
Big Skippies still hitting good! Even caught a few Moon eye today.
Were gettin a little rise down there right now 21ft at dam 17 at the upper 4 at the lower dam, 15.4 at the lower gauge.. 6 units at hydro....this could be a good thing...Chuck

Its a shame.
I just hope they dont get so bad that our native filter feeders (these Asian carp are filter feeders) such as shad and paddlefish do not suffer. Even our juvy sport fish rely on the same food source as an 80lb big head and needless to say, an 80lb bighead takes away ALOT of food from a fry.
Also its going to **** when you are running up river at 50MPH and one of these beasts skys out and knocks you out of your boat! And this has happened before where these guys have taken over!
Oh well enough doom and gloom...
When do yall think the hybrids and stripe will show up in full force?
Also, are there any tips or tricks to catching LARGE stripe at the falls?
Most of the TRUE stripe I catch are less then 12" with my biggest being less then 24". Ive managed several hawg hybrids out of there but Id really like to target some big stripe this year, especially once I get my boat going!
