I know cats are agile, butI have trouble believing that a cat can climb over a four foot high chain link fence. Does anyone know if that is possible and if it is, what can we do to stop the cat from doing its thing in the flower beds? Remember that cats, animals and other intruders have more rights than the homeowner does, so keep it legal if you have a suggestion!!

I would like to hear how others solved the problem.

This is what worked by accident (sort of). Jack Russell Terriers are fast as lightning and hate cats. There were some feral cats that were climbing a 4' high chain link fence like it was a tree and ruining my flowers. I turned my dog out into the yard and the fur flew. When the fight was over the score was 1-0, with the dog as winner and not one scratch. We had a solemn funeral for the cat but the dog refused to let him rest in peace. She was so mad she dug him up and "killed" him again. We had to put the cat into a garbage bag and dispose of it elsewhere. Get you a dog that hates cats.
