water is still about 7 or 8 feet above summer pool but the ramps are becoming more accessible...water is in good condition...not muddy but with a good color...don't know much about walleye fishing but the crappie have been on fire recently

Was there Sunday 17 May. Lakes water is green, and clear to 6-8 feet deep. Some drift out there, few and far between. Lone Valley Ramp was open, but you ramp in from the turnaround wich was 33% underwater. Green Marina Ramp was not useable, water up into parking lot. Gizzard shad was not to hard to catch north of Emerald Isle, along left side walls/banks. Bottom fishing from 6 am to 3 pm netted 8 catfish all over 6 pounds, biggest 14 pounds. One 5 pound large mouth caught bottom fishing gizzard shad. Crappie hitting minnows under bobbers or down poles at about 5-8 feet near brush. Gills were active, on nightcrawlers or minnows. Couple white bass on minnows under boobers at 5 foot deep.

My son and I went down today, considering the odd's were stacked against us (blue bird sky, cold front and high water dropping a foot a day)
it wasn't too bad. The fishing was a little slow, ended up with 14 bass and 2 wally's(small), we caught some pretty nice bass had 1 4lb and 3 over 3lb's and 3 more around 2 lb. We were catching them right on the bank
pitching spinner bait's, just about had to drop on there head. The bite on soft plastic's and crank's were extremely slow (1 on a black zoom lizard).
We had to put in at the state park ramp, the green river marina was still closed. It was a nice day on the lake with my son, with his school, work and girl friend there's not a whole lot of Dad time.
