Fished some pretty heavy cover yesterday morning with a Strike King Rage Tail Frog. I fish with the Spro Bronze Eye Frogs from time to time, but wanted to try to wake up some bigger fish with some loud noise.
I bought some specialty frog hooks (weight and screwlock on the eye with a double hook meant to run down the belly), but on some of the retrieves the frog wouldn't turn over........I retrieved it on its back and the hooks were out of the water. This happened probably every other cast.
Do I need to use a "keel weighted" swimbait hook or what? Has anyone experienced this and has a remedy for this problem?
Thanks in advance for advice provided.
