I am looking to buy a new cell phone in the near future and I am wanting to get one that has very good weather and radar capabilities. I am with AT&T but I don't think that matters much.
I have an older Motorola RazR, which is pretty obsolete for nowadays. However, AT&T internet will allow you to access The Weather Channel, giving you daily forecasts, extended outlook forcasts, as well as current radar that you can zoom in and out. For another fee, you can get real-time radar, the kind that moves as the clouds move. However, if you just want to know the current radar, you can't beat this feature. I don't think it will matter what phone you get........but I would ask the representative you purchase the phone from. Hope this helps.![]()
i like my iphone you can touch on the weather app and look at all your favorite places and it will give a 5 day forcast i or you can get the weather channel app and get a 10 day forcast. i put in all the places i like to fish just to check the weather at those lakes even some in florida just to see all at the touch of your finger. plus it is pretty durable mine got washed for a full cycle and still works.
What he said. You can also check radar on iphone as well. iPhone and a Plantronics Bluetooth. I never get my phone out while wading or boating unless I'm using one of the umpteen apps that have all been mentioned in previous posts. It's those apps, and the ones that are sure to come that makes this gadget hands down the best on the market. There is a whole "app" section in the app store devoted to Weather.
I hang the Bluetooth around my neck by some old fly line, put the iphone in a ziplock, and I'm off. I also like that my KY fishing license is downloaded as a picture file on my iphone. I used to have that Verizon Waterproof phone also. It seems like I have dropped phones into creeks more than I've dropped jigs into brushpiles but once I figured out the bluetooth trick, I really don't ever need to take the phone out of my pocket or tackle bag.
I have AT&T and I bought a "Tundra" it also is a military spec phone you can go to youtube and view some of the stuff they do to this phone it is AWESOME, you also can download aps on it, everyone that has seen it in action wants one
Verizon.........and I use a Motorola Adventure 750......best phone on the market period..
I went into the Verizon store, said I'm HARD on equipment.....said I needed a great all weather phone, that can take some abuse........
THE 750 is a mil spec phone..........He pointed to the phone.......which was submerged in a tank of water..........I said......well, RIGHT......HE CALLED the **** PHONE.........it rang.........
No questions..........I purchased it.
Now for the services.....
I use Fishing MyCast by Garmin.......5 bucks a month..........It has really good weather, a fishin report, DNR info for your current location, Location Alerts, etc, etc..............All in all a great product.
AND my Verizon phone is pretty much the best service I've ever had........

Well i have the iphone 3g with the weather channel for free and the cell service i get at lakes in ky is better than any other cell company hands down. I get service when others can't get anything. I don't really trust the weatherman but i do look at the apps often.
I have the same phone (after dropping my other one in Laurel Lake) it's a great phone!Verizon.........and I use a Motorola Adventure 750......best phone on the market period..

I'd go with the iPhone for sure if you can stomach the extra on the monthly bill. It's worth it to me, maybe not for you.
I've got an iphone and with the weather.com app and the web app called iweathr, I can get animated, up-to-date radar loops and even web cams close to the location I'm searching.
