Ok, I over stated a little. However, I still stand by the drill drill drill approach as being a bad idea. If we went that route we would just hold off on working on alt sources. I also like the idea of having oil sources here that we could exploit in an emergancy so we do not have to rely on others. After all, if we have sources that we can use, that is a bargining chip. If we have none, we are at the mercy of those who have oil. Its not a repub or dem thing. Both have failed us on this issue. Caffe standards, if I remember right, were started in the 70's. The Bush admin dropped the ball and did not enforce them. The Clinton admin came up with the stupid idea that SUV's were not cars, therefore, not required to meet the standards. Probably part of why the auto industry is in the current mess.
