Just go fishin! It's a great lake.......at times, and there's no real secrets! This sounds like a typical, "where's your honey-hole," type of post. Put some time in and you'll catch fish there, much like anyother lake in this state!

I really need some help, I'm headed to Raccoon this week end and I need some help or advice on how to catch bass there. I fished it many years ago but haven't been back since. Any help would be appreciated.![]()

Doesn't sounds like where's your honey hole to me. Study the map and apply what you know about bass fishing, fish hard enough and you'll catch them. All those laydowns have been fished thousand of times.![]()
Thank you, I'll do just that. I'm sorry I asked, I guess that was the wrong thing to do. I'll look for a more user friendly site.My reply is not directed toward you but to the other gentleman.

Don't take Tobias too seriously and go somewhere else. We need people on this board who actually talk about fishing because that's what this board is for.
Sandman the water will be up and muddy so fish slower than usual. Use bright colored wide wobble crankbaits fished slow and steady. Try areas across from state park boatramp use your electronics out off points some have probably spawned and will be heading off into a little deeper water try jigs black with maybe some chartreuse. The guys as a rule on here will be helpful but some of the (pro's) feel like you need to fish it for a few years to gain that insight that they have. All this in my humble opinion......
Well, it's 13ft above summer pool (as of today) so the island, at least that's what I called it, in the big cove across the main ramp should still be underwater and I bet there will be some post spawn fish hanging around there. I would hit it first thing in the morning with some topwater lures. Let us know how you did, don't be tight lips.![]()
I had my best tournament on Raccoon, but in any other time there have never caught a keeper! It's a tough lake, for sure, but it does have some good bass in it.
