The one's I am referring to are the bottom bouncers. They are a wire form with the weight on the bottom leg. They have a r-bend and a swivel to tie your leader to. You can get them from very light to very heavy, I usually use 3/4 to 1 ounce.
I believe they are listed at Cabelas as bottom bouncers.
They look ackward for bass fishing but I have caught many bass strolling a crankbait attached to one of these wierd rigs.
Again a word of caution, they don't cast very good but if you release line while drifting and stay out of the thick brush your hangups should be reduced greatly.
