Memphis under investigation for 2007-2008 year.......

got to mention that while Mitch Brainfart knew of the investigation at Memphis, he forgot to inform the board of regents who were responsible for giving the stamp of approval on Cal's big contract. No big deal right?

Well, this is the second time this has happened with Brainfart, he also forgot to inform them of the NCAA probalems that Rich Brooks had when he was hired as well, which led him to state publicly "this was a mistake on my part and it will not happen again."

Maybe it is time for the wildly unsuccessful A.D. to be sent packing.

Well lucky for John Wall and Derrick Rose that Cal is such a slimeball that he would let them come play for him. I'm sure they would have had a really hard time finding any other coach at any other school to play for.

These are kids and they are human...they are going to make mistakes, some worse than others. We all made mistakes of some kind when we were younger too, and I'm sure that some of them were just as illegal as punching a guy or breaking into an empty house to party. If you want the BEST BASKETBALL TALENT on the basketball court, you've got to be willing to give them a chance (ONE chance, in my opinion) to grow up and gain some integrity while learning from mistakes...or straighten up and fly right, as my Dad used to say. If it was about recruiting the nicest guys with the best grades, we'd be Vandy.

Sure there are plenty of schools that would have taken them because they are both very talented basketball players but there are schools that wouldn't touch them because of the things I mentioned eariler also.

When you start bringing in kids who have been in trouble, have handlers, are assosiated with World Wide Wes, attend schools know as diploma mills....... you should expect some criticism when things like this happens because there is a patteren if you follow Cal's career path, so either Cal is complicit or negligent. Take you choice.

Also my dad always told me "If you lay down with dogs, you are going to get fleas" and KY is going to need some flea killer soon if not already.

I'm not trying to start a fight or anything I just don't care for the way Cal does things.

University of Memphis officials didn't plan on releasing report alleging NCAA violations
Athletic director Johnson was focusing on June 6 meeting with committee on infractions

For more than four months, the University of Memphis, athletic director R.C. Johnson and former basketball coach John Calipari successfully kept secret a report alleging NCAA violations in the basketball program during the 2007-08 season.

And they apparently had no plans to tell anyone before facing the NCAA’s committee on infractions June 6 in Indianapolis
"“We hadn’t really talked about it honestly, we really hadn’t,” Johnson said. “Our main focus was to get ready for June 6, and we really hadn’t spent much time. In fact, I don’t know that we would have. If anything — and we really didn’t talk much about it — it would have been after the June 6 (hearing), probably.”"

In a written statement, Kentucky athletic director Mitch Barnhart said Kentucky had “talked with several people and thoroughly exercised due diligence during the process of hiring coach Calipari.”

Kentucky’s due diligence, however, apparently didn’t include a conversation with Johnson about the pending allegations.

“I’m trying to remember. I don’t know. The only one I talked to at Kentucky was (Barnhart), and I don’t think that we talked about it,” Johnson said.
