I work in downtown Louisville, and see many boats just below the 'wickets' and the Interpretive center on the Indiana side, and I assume they are fishing. This time of year I expect the sauger are gone, so I am curious if anyone knows what they are fishing for, stripers or hybrids perhaps?
Perhaps. There are also some monster cats in there.I work in downtown Louisville, and see many boats just below the 'wickets' and the Interpretive center on the Indiana side, and I assume they are fishing. Thanks RT, that very well may be what they are doing. There seem to be many more this year than I remembered in the past. At 7:30 this morning I counted 5 boats out there already.
Whites, hybrids,cats, buffalo,drum,you name it.
My office overlooks the falls and it drives me absolutely crazy looking out there and seeing people fishing. You can catch just about anything cats, drum, striper, sauger and that is what makes it interesting. I keep a rod and a chaneg of clothes in the truck with a small box of lures just in case I get an hour after work. Just go two minutes across the bridge and you are fishing.
Anyone know of any tournaments going out of louisville area this weekend? Thanks
While bank fishing below the interpretive center, I occasionally see people bank fishing on the opposite side (Kentucky side I assume). As I'm new to the area, does anyone know how to get on that side?
None this weekend that I know of, but there is a fundraiser tourney for the University of Louisville L-Raisin' Anglers next Friday (June 4). It's an evening tourney with a pretty good payout leaving at Cox's park. PM me if you're interested.
Only by boat, unless they have the upper dam closed. If you don't know the area I wouldn't attempt it. I'm down every Fri. and would be glad to show you how to get up there...Chuck
