You can use the standard sonar for that, however, the way Side Imaging is scanning the bottom, the majority of suspended fish shown will be in a center water collumn readout, but will not show how far to the right or left. If you were to pair up you're sonar and side imaging on split screen, you could be a little more accurate with your estimate of where fish are suspended.
