I was down there Sunday and the dock was closed and a for sale sign on the door. Anyone know whats going on with that.
No grass on the lake now. Bluegill on the beds and bass biting Horny toads early morning jigs when the sun comes up high. Shakey heads under docks in deeper water.

I spoke with the guy at the dock last Saturday and he said the dock was not going to open until about 1pm that Sunday. I am planning a trip this Saturday and he said the dock will be open as usual at 7am.
18'Stratos--Did you try cranking at all with any luck? Or did the bite primarily seem to be on jigs with topwater early? With the jig bite were you pitching to cover or casting?
Thanks
The jig was in shallow shaded water with cover.( Some bass are still protecting their Fry) and also deep. I talked to one of my friends yesterday and he said that a Texas rigged Paca Craw was the ticket. I guess after the spawn the fish are liking the smaller baits. My jig was a 1/4 oz. Black and blue with black trailer. I never picked up a crankbait. Good luck this weekend and I hope I'll be on the water also.I spoke with the guy at the dock last Saturday and he said the dock was not going to open until about 1pm that Sunday. What's the story on motors at beaver right now?
I've read conflicting stories, can you idle speed with a motor
over 10HP right now?
Only if you can pay the hefty fine fish and wildlife will give you. This all started last year by mistake some one put Beaver in with the idle speed listings. I know it doesnt seem fair but it has always been 9.9 or smaller. Many people who fish it regularly and live on the lake have spent thousands of dollars on small 9.9 motors and jon boats only to have a bass boat with a 225 pass them up going idle speed for the past year.
We were down earlier this spring and the guy that runs the dock said they have a new game warden that is strickly enforcing the 10HP limit whereas the old game warden did not enforce it and would let you idle a bigger motor. Sure enough the game warden was there that day and writing up citations.
As a small boat owner I like this rule. It makes for less crowds.
Can you use the big motor for loading and unloading the boat?
Andrew
I know we could at one time but geez anymore it's a guess on what you can and cannot do down there.
The lake regulations change with the wind, or at least the enforcement of the lake regulations on Beaver change with the wind. I heard this year it was changed that you could not load or unload with the big motor if it was over 10hp. Like I said in MANY post before about Beaver, it is a Locals Lake (locals being mainly those that live on the lake) in my opinion. Pontoon's running max out with their 9.9's put out 4 times the wake of a fishing boat idling no matter the size motor. Totally agree with enforcing if someone with a bigger motor than 10hp not idling, but this lake should be an idle only lake with the use of any size motor to load and unload. Until they change that, the locals can have it. Might as well make it private, charge an annual fee, get rid of the Fish and Wildlife officer to another lake or area.
