I've read conflicting stories, can you idle speed with a motor
    over 10HP right now?
We were down earlier this spring and the guy that runs the dock said they have a new game warden that is strickly enforcing the 10HP limit whereas the old game warden did not enforce it and would let you idle a bigger motor. Sure enough the game warden was there that day and writing up citations.

As a small boat owner I like this rule. It makes for less crowds.

The lake regulations change with the wind, or at least the enforcement of the lake regulations on Beaver change with the wind. I heard this year it was changed that you could not load or unload with the big motor if it was over 10hp. Like I said in MANY post before about Beaver, it is a Locals Lake (locals being mainly those that live on the lake) in my opinion. Pontoon's running max out with their 9.9's put out 4 times the wake of a fishing boat idling no matter the size motor. Totally agree with enforcing if someone with a bigger motor than 10hp not idling, but this lake should be an idle only lake with the use of any size motor to load and unload. Until they change that, the locals can have it. Might as well make it private, charge an annual fee, get rid of the Fish and Wildlife officer to another lake or area.

Is that a local water supply that could be worried about fuel discharges.

    Re: Beaver Lake ?Dock closed???

I just came back from Beaver Thursday...between the rain and clouds, couldn't be better, but think the front threw the bass bite off. Forgot my raingear, so had to leave when I couldn't feel my hands. lol. What's with the 50's in June?! But in little over 4 hours I caught 1 LM on a buzz bait, 13 on a worm. My cousin caught a mix of blue gill, redear, and bass, but not much size on any...no LM over a pound. Just glad to be out on the water.
But it is a strict 9.9 limit, not sure about using the outboard for trailering, but I would think not. Just crank the winch. lol. But I like the horsepower limit myself, makes the lake perfect for a small craft like my 12ft. Jon or those who have little pond prowlers. Helps those who can't afford bigger boats fish good lakes w/o getting swamped. But the dock/baithouse is open, just varying hours...talked to the owner Thursday and said sales have been tough, but getting better. He's very knowledgable about the lake, so next time your there, see what's hot...and buy some worms, support our local economy. lol.
