i have two curados 7:0:1. best reels i've ever owned
I work in the fishing department at Bass Pro Clarksville and will tell without a doubt that the best value priced baitcaster is the Bass Pro Pro Qaulifier($99.99). You can get it in either a 7.1:1 or 6.4:1. Depending on what baits you are looking at fishing would determine the speed real you should get. A 6.4 will be a more versitale reel and inable you to fish a wider range of baits with one reel
i just bought a BPS reel and dunno if i will buy another one. i got the BPS Nitro. it lives up to its name by hauling out those lunkers, but i dont like the thumb bar. its plastic and everytime i go to cast it i think i'm gonna break it. i've broken all my other reels with plastic, so maybe i'm just prejudice. and then sometimes the thumb bar won't release completely and i have to repress it and try again. dunno.
Well if you want to spend the money for a quantum pt burner i dont think youll be dissappointed. I just got one and i love it, probably goin to get a few more in the future.
Been pretty satisfied with a Quantum I've had for about 15 yrs. Shimano's pretty hard to beat. The manufacturers definetly keep puttin out some reels to drool over that cost more and more. Depends on what your pattern of fishing, how much you fish, and of course how much you can warrant spending. I generally use the baitcasters with baits that eat up the spinning real gears. Spinnerbaits oh ya.
