Well there are just some bad apples making it difficult on the lake and alot of what goes on is unsafe. People getting blocked or cutoff is on any body of water but unrestricted horse power or speed on a small lake is crazy.man it never ends bass fisherman bass fisherman that, big motors this big motos that .you know i buy my licenses and pay my taxes just as well as all of you do and if i wanna zip up and down the lake i will, are you buying the gas my boat uses?do i cut people off no i am considerate, being i like it when people slow down for me so why not return it.I drive a semi for a living so i know how rude and careless people are but the thing is i dont let it get to me so i have to go to truckin.com and cry about it because seriously what gets done about it?nothign .you know i wish everyone would go to kdfw and make it a small motor lake b/c guess what it wil be another beaver lake a bunch of job boats crappie fishin and a few bass guys that dont mind trolling motors all the way .me personally this country is free if i wanna zipadoda down the lake then zippy it is !man good thing you all dont go to green on a weekend and try to fish this board would be blowin up.i forgot to mention i fish the tournies on cedar and on a saturday with the lake packed i have not once had a problem finding a place to fish might not be my place but i am fishin ,so it seems alot of people are upset someone beat them to there spots ,well if thats the case its not your spot its kdfw's spot, lol
The attitude of I'll do what I want because it's my right is part of the problem. It's your right to do what you wish but when it endangers others you just infringed on their rights. I'm not saying you endanger others but many people do on that lake and it needs to get controlled.
Fished tournies at Green for many years and it's totally cool with me to see guys zippin' up the lake because it can handle it. Sure we got cut off but thats just the way it is. Thats where all the Houseboats and jet skiers would run between us and the bank we were fishin....some real winners down there.

I don't think the general purpose of this discussion is about your rights to run up and down the lake IT'S about courtesy and safety.
Nobody is trying to take away your right to run up and down the lake as much as you want but when your rights infringe upon the safety of others then your rights must be restricted.
The initial proposal was a 150hp max on the lake but the tournament fishermen began calling their reps and this limitation was taken off. A 150hp rating in my opinion is also extreme for the size of the body of water.
The reason the lake was built was for creating a quality fishery but what it has turned out to be is a joke. Sure you can catch some decent fish down there if you have nerves of steel and be extra cautious to avoid the idiots who thinks that if there is water then they have the right to it regardless if that specific piece of water already has another angler using it. After almost coming to blows more than once I have removed Cedar Creek from my places to fish. To me it is not worth the headache.
I agree burt if someone is fishing a spot there is absolutly no reason to come in between them and the bank and take their spot.
I guess i'll put my 2cents in.Its a joke trying too bass fish in June, july,Aug all day.Early and late not bad but too tournament fish all day isn't worth it for me.Heat kills me.Next year when i take over for Bruce Cupp(ABA director) I will start in Oct. and end in early May.Everyone has a right too be out there and June, july,Aug is when its going too get crazy.I for one won't put tournament anglers in harms way during the summer.
I have had guys tell me i cut them off and they still wanted too argue even when i told them they could have the spot.I'm not a mind reader and can't know what others are doing when i blast up too an area and other boats are near by.We all need too get along and even when i'm fishing a tournament i will move on as too argue.I had a ball Sunday with a college angler and he won his tournament from the back of my boat.Looking forward too working with the college anglers.
Sorry i think i put more than 2cents in.lol
Bottom line have fun and my best spot on any lake is still out there for me too find.No spot is named mine, yours or theirs.Open too all and i do better on spots i have never seen anglers on.Terry Adolph
P.S. If you would like too see the dates for 2010 ABA you can find them under my profile.![]()
This to me is not exclusive to bass fisherman or tournament fisherman. But my opinion is that just because someone buys a 20' rig does not mean that they know how to operate it properly. I am not saying you or any one on this board because lord knows most of you have way more experience on the water than I do. But operating any power boat on public waters can be dangerous. It can only make it worse if the operater does not know the rules of the road or does but chooses to ignore them. Which not only makes it dangerous to the operator but to me and my family when we are on the water.
I am not specifically talking about cedar creek. But my few experiences on it were not good. I enjoyed fishing all that timber but it was not very fun stuck in the timber while Mr. Skeeter tested how well his boat ran in circles 100 yards away from us. Then he would go back to the ramp work on it and run circles again. Seriously this happened to us.
