You can't fix stupid so there will always be bozo's behind the wheel no matter what is done to the lake.
The problem with the restrictions is that I've seen people on this very board talk about how restrictions on some of the small lakes like Beaver and Elmer Davis aren't "fair" to those with larger boats or motors.

I've also seen posts say that they don't abide by them - either by fishing with a boat that is too long or by using their big motor at idle only or using their big motor to load their boat, etc.

I fish CC regularly. The biggest problem that I see, is inexperience. At the launch ramp I often see one boat take up all of the lanes. The inexperience also shows with fisherman pulling in on top of and in front of other fisherman. I believe the lake has created an influx of new and inexperienced boaters that have previously shyed away from the larger lakes. The lake is going to be crowded, that is a fact. The only thing that a horsepower rescriction would accomplish is making me change the horsepower number displayed on the cowl of my outboard.

I know it's not fair to regulate HP limits but something will be done in the near future. It has to because someone will get hurt. Maybe having a idle speed only from the middle ramp into the upper reaches of the lake, this is the main area that has the most problems IMO.

That way all the boats that love to run or need to run can have a part of the lake and the rest can be safer for small boats and all fisherman in general.

They used to have a very good regulation at Lake Malone, and I am guessing they still do. All boats must drop down to idle speed any time they pass a boat that is not under way. It causes a lot of starting and stopping which can help regulate how fast boats go in certain areas. And it also was great because you didn't get swamped by other boats if you were fishing back in a creek.

I agree burt if someone is fishing a spot there is absolutly no reason to come in between them and the bank and take their spot.

Cool Re: Rude and Inconsiderate Fishermen on Cedar Creek!!! ....... :-(

I guess i'll put my 2cents in.Its a joke trying too bass fish in June, july,Aug all day.Early and late not bad but too tournament fish all day isn't worth it for me.Heat kills me.Next year when i take over for Bruce Cupp(ABA director) I will start in Oct. and end in early May.Everyone has a right too be out there and June, july,Aug is when its going too get crazy.I for one won't put tournament anglers in harms way during the summer.
I have had guys tell me i cut them off and they still wanted too argue even when i told them they could have the spot.I'm not a mind reader and can't know what others are doing when i blast up too an area and other boats are near by.We all need too get along and even when i'm fishing a tournament i will move on as too argue.I had a ball Sunday with a college angler and he won his tournament from the back of my boat.Looking forward too working with the college anglers.
    Sorry i think i put more than 2cents in.lol
Bottom line have fun and my best spot on any lake is still out there for me too find.No spot is named mine, yours or theirs.Open too all and i do better on spots i have never seen anglers on.Terry Adolph
P.S. If you would like too see the dates for 2010 ABA you can find them under my profile.

This to me is not exclusive to bass fisherman or tournament fisherman. But my opinion is that just because someone buys a 20' rig does not mean that they know how to operate it properly. I am not saying you or any one on this board because lord knows most of you have way more experience on the water than I do. But operating any power boat on public waters can be dangerous. It can only make it worse if the operater does not know the rules of the road or does but chooses to ignore them. Which not only makes it dangerous to the operator but to me and my family when we are on the water.

I am not specifically talking about cedar creek. But my few experiences on it were not good. I enjoyed fishing all that timber but it was not very fun stuck in the timber while Mr. Skeeter tested how well his boat ran in circles 100 yards away from us. Then he would go back to the ramp work on it and run circles again. Seriously this happened to us.
