If you guys ever get the opportunity to marshall a Bass Masters tournament I would highly reccomend it. I just got back from their tournament this past weekend at Paris Landing, on Kentucky lake. I was paired with Shaw Grigsby day 1 and day 2 was Stephen Browning. Both guys where good people and went out of their way to show me how they were fishing.. open to questions when able...info on the GPS/sonar..techniques on fishing ledges. Both guys caught 100 plus fish per day.. Shaw weighed in over 24 lbs on day one. It was cool to see how efficent they fish. Stephen was funny and as nice as you could ask for. He even offered to take my friend and I fishing after the tournament.
As I mentioned..a friend and I went and both really enjoyed the experience. We compared notes.. went to Barkley and applied things they taught us. It took time but we located a few schools on ledges and caught fish.. Most were non keepers but we had fun. Now I won't be beating the banks and points everytime I go fishing.
This would be great for friends or a few guys in a club that could share rooms and expenses.. Fish on!![]()

I was very exicited when I heard about the marshall program so I signed up on-line immediately. I couldnt stand the suspence of whether I would get to do it or if all the positions were already full. The next day I called to confirm they got my entry and the man I spoke with said yes they did, and I was number 72 to sign up and I was going to be a marshall. I was so exicited and told all of my friends. Then about 1 1/2 to 2 months later official notices were sent out in the mail and when I opened mine it said I was number 107 and was on the stand-by list. Well, I called immedialely and they gave me the run around and said there was nothing they could do. I was pretty upset so I told them screw it and send me my $100.00 back. Im angry about what happened but still want to be a marshall so I guess ill try again next year...... Greg
Go to Bass Masters dot com.. find the marshal program.. not sure exactly where it is now.. Only 2 tournaments left.. so they are full I am sure.. TRy to sign up for next year in November or December.. Good luck!
Sorry about your experience.. Theytold us we were in the top 60 so we made it.. Our tournament started on Wednesday instead of Thurday.. WE only found out Tueday at the meeting and had to scamble to re-arrange things.. NOT COOL.. so yeah.. they are a bit unorganized.. Good luck next year!
