RoadToad, thanks for your input and additional information. I just passed over the scientific parts in my write up as just one more source predicting the end of time. . Did you watch the videos from the History Channel? They cite at least 10 different entities that have predicted the end of time at December 21, 2012. Some of those entities, like the English Orachles and the American Indians have two or more different entities making the prediction. It is interesting that so many different seers have come up with the same date.

BTW, what you stated (and answered) as my question was not what I asked. Go back and read the paragraph that starts with "The video even talks about Revelations. . . " Then read my questions again.

Roadtoad, I just reread you post and I guess you really did answer my question, I am the one that mis-read what you said. However, I don't think that the Mayan belief in their extremely accurate calandar or that of several of the other predicters were any more superstition than the Christain world view and its believe in the Bible is superstition. Each believed in the validity of thier prophacies.

Does it not say in Revelations that "firs and brimstone" would rain down from the Heavens. So if the Myans, bible,and all the other soothsayers are correct could it not be either a vocanic eruption, the one at Yellowstone is overdue, or it could be a comet or something from space that could strike the earth, if I am correct I think some comet or asteriod or something is supposed to come close to earth that year. They all could have predicted what they witnessed as Pompi got rain on with fire/brimstone. So they could be correct in predicting a natural cycle that affects all earth. Just have to wait and see and stock up on ammo/food/water etc.

Bobby, the reason I asked the question(s) is because if my understanding of Revelations is correct, there are several things that must happen over at least 14 years before the End of Time can come. And, as as said above, one of the major requirements is that the Jews rebuild their Temple on Mount Moriah, which is now occupied by the Muslim temple. I don't see how the time line in Revelations can be accomplisted before December 21, 2012. That is not to say that some of the things you mention couldn't happen, it just is not necessarily the end.

TRUE GRUMP TRUE. There could be something else, the Mayan's do not actually predict that 12/21/2012 is the end just that something major is going to happen that will bring change. Nature is always changing and remember all great nations have all fallen as nothing lasts forever and change is inevitable.
