well the derby was alot of fun as always alot more kids fishing this year unfortunatly the prizes were not up to the same standard as last year. once again the economy seemed to cripple part of the day. The fishing was great they released much better fish most a pound or more even one over 5lbs. dsad part was one family group had to be a pain for all those around them. they would snag other lines and drag them on shore and cut the riggs and toss them in the weeds. they had kids that were listed as 14 one of them had a darker beard than mine and if he was not 20 or better I would eat the jigging rod they were using to run off all the other kids in their area other than that the kids had a ball with the larger fish and the weather was not near as hot so over all a great day for everyone. I hop[e next year we can put to gether a fund raiser to send to the folks running the show to help cover what the corperations could not give this year. it uis for the kids and the future of the sport.
