I did a stream clean-up and bought a pack so I could smoke and keep the deer flies off me. When you're walking down the middle of a creek with a kayak full of river trash those flies find you pretty quick. They hate tobacco.

Anyways - the pack was over $5. How much more could they tax it?

You got me beat! 1 Kimber Ultra II .45acp, 1 Taurus .380, 1 Walther .22 and thousands of rounds on ammo! Got my eye on a .357 right now. Already bought the ammo so it's a done deal.

I don't smoke anymore, quit almost two years ago, after smoking for thirty years. You know if 400K Americans are dying anually from smoking why hasn't it been banned? Everybody knows the answer, government could care less how many die from smoking as long as they keep getting their ever increasing tax money from it. Thats the cold hard truth!

Yep once that Golden Goose is gone these crooks will find another thing to tax, they have too because you gotta feed the gubment.

I think Mark is right whats next? Carbon taxes? Fast food joints? Higher gas taxes? Vehicle mileage taxes?

I'm personally in favor of legalizing Hemp and the mary-wanna. Makes good bidness sense.

Agree. KY used to have a good hemp industry. Might be something to take the place of tobacco.

Ditto here. At one time Hemp was a thriving industry in this state. My wife and I have purchased some hemp products at a local county festival we attend every year. One was a soap and the other a hand and body lotion, awesome stuff. You can make darn near anything out of that stuff. State officials are against because they say it's too hard for law enforcement to distinguish between Hemp and actual Marijuana. Besides it makes to much sense and that alone would keep the stupid government from doing anything.

It's funny how Alcohol, Tobacco and the proposed gambling is fine but growing a product that can do alot of good and provide work for people who want to grow the stuff isn't even a realistic alternative.

Waaaaaay too much. In the long run, really does not help that much. Would be better to legalize it and spend money on drug education. The only way that you'll make any real dent in drug abuse problems is through education. In addition, if its legal, you'll cut way down on the gang wars due to drug territories and such.

Yep seems like a no brainer to legalize it but can you imagine the uproar if it was ever really attempted? Oh man the world would come to a screeching halt if we admitted that what we are doing doesn't work.

I know counties in California have begun to tax the sale of marijuana and have really seen some great benefits from it. Saw it on some Liberal news show. Saturday night live or Letterman I think.
