Not sure that I get the comparison of tobacco and alcohol. Used in moderation, alcohol will not kill you. In fact, there have been a number of studies showing that a glass of wine or a beer a day can be good for you. Not so with smoking or other tobacco products. They represent one of the biggest contributors to adult deaths in the US. If we are for not letting the gov’t interfere with our lives, then why are crack, heroin, pot, etc. illegal? After all, marijuana does have medicinal purposes.
Guess my point is, if I start producing a food for human consumption that contains arsenic, for example, it will be pulled from the shelves in no time if it is even allowed to hit the markets. Why is tobacco different?
