Hey Jigboy .... if any of my past experiences, fishing T-ville at night, are still worth a hoot ... I'd say use a jig/pig or plastic craw (texas rigged), and fish them from the water's edge down to about 10'. Back when I went, I used to do pretty good with a craw ... fishing on full moon nights ... with blacklights ... dark, or lit banks ... and mostly on banks with standing timber. I have caught some nice fish, cranking the deeper rocky banks, but not as good as with the plastics. I preferred the full moon nights, simply because I was fishing timbered banks ... since the moon helped light up the way thru the trees/branches, and kept me from breakin' my rod (or my head) against the overhanging limbs. The moon don't help much with running the TM into submerged timber, but that didn't seem to spook the fish, too much, anyway.
I would consider trading you my fav night bank/bait/technique, for location of your 3 crappie brushpile stretch .... LOL !! PM me on C.c and we'll dicker
.... pappy
