    Question quantum energy pt

i was looking at these baitcasters but wanted to know if anybody on here has one or know of someone who does. i was playing around with one at bps and was smoother then any other reel i have. but wanted to know if they are worth the money. my wife gave me the o.k. to get one but wanted to check with the experts of fishin.com first to make sure there ant another reel around the same price that is better.

    thanks

used them for a few years until I got my first shimano curado, needless to say don't use them anymore. check out ebay, last year shimano's are a little cheaper and a great reel, I have one of the E7's it's sweet but I'm used to the bigger D size

I have a Quantum Pt Burner. It is nothing compared to the shimano. Yes it is smooth, but it doesn't cast near as good or as consistent. Good Luck.

I have a couple and love them. I also really like the curado's. They both have advantages. I seem to get more distance with the quantum, especially with lures around the 1/4 ounce range - I use mine almost exclusively for weightless senko's. Overall, I like the curado's better (lighter, smaller, and more user friendly).

    Re: quantum energy pt

i just whant to say after all the post on here, doing reserch, talking to people, and asking the guys at bass pro i ended up with the shimano curado. and i paired it with a bps crankin stick. they are now on sale for $49.00 looked at other crank bait rods but i like the crankin stick the best plus i saved money, so i got a bps pro qualifier for my kistler rod. just wanted to say thanks to everyone who posted.

    thanks
