I think I've got it beat..........

    How about fighting a 3 or 4 lb smallie......only to have it HAMMERED by a 20lb northern........WOW........

Never had the hooks in the northern, but that thing would NOT let GO....

    Talk about FUN.

I also never landed that particular northern.

    Later,

    Geo

That does sound exciting. I have seen some videos similiar to that on youtube. However, I still landed my 6lb of smallmouths! How much of your 4lber did you finally get in? I do a bit of Muskie fishing here in KY, and i can only imagine how much of a rush the pike hitting that nice smallie would be.

I had a 16" smallie on a sammy almost to the boat at Cumberland and had bout a 25 inch striper come like a train and swipe at and miss the sammy.

Did it one time and my wife caught it on video! I was vacationing in Kauai and went fishing for peacock bass. Caught 2 on one crankbait, both about 15".

I did it on Stoner years ago on a rattletrap...on video! Also on a top water in Florida but never in a tourny.

I have never done it, but was in the boat with Scott Patton when he did it on a Rat-L-Trap at Ky. Lake.

I've done it a couple of times. Always smallmouths and none were very big. Smallies are just plain mean.
