Thanks guys, all good useful info. I am going to experiment some, buy sm. spools at a time and see if I like it better this time around. I am also going to try braid for cr and then fluoro for the leader. Thanks, Tim

I used vanish transition for a few years and everything would break off. switched to seaguar invisx and have not had a break off sense. if you use it on a c-rig watch your knot at your weight, but other than that it is great. only mono I use is for topwater. just my 2 cents

i use XPS fluoro on my c-rig, but i use p-line as a leader. (the reason) cause fluoro sinks not letting the bait float up off the bottom...KP
I use fluorocarbon line on my bottom boucing and carolina rig. Helps me feel the bottom better. I must not be catching as many fish nor as big as all the other boosts that are complaining about the break off's. And I fish alot. "When the money's on the Line".
I use HI-SEAS Fluorocarbon. I have tried others and they are ok but with all comparisons
equal I owuld use HI-SEAS line. The problem is having to find it. You can go to their web site http://www.hiseas.net/ and check where the closest dealer is to you. Try it I think you will be pleased. Just my penny and a half.
i would not buy the regular pline flurocarbon. had to contact the company after loosing 3, yes that is right 3 rapala baits on it in one night. turns out they tested the line and said that line must have come off the bottom of the spool and the weight of the upper part of the spool sometimes kinks the lower line. (keep in mind these spools are shipped from japan, and are so big they move them with a fork lift.) i did alot of studying on this. and here is what i have found. pline halo is the best i have ever used. i would rate seaguar pro as the second best. things to remember with fluro... on a spinning reel, never ever fill the spool over 2/3 full. if you do it will want to spring off like a slinky. low stretch, its not a good idea to use fluro on a med/hevy or hevy rod if you do hard hooksets. (unless) you are fishing in deep water where you will loose some power on the hookset. but honestly,, for the diffrence in money it cost vs mono, you would almost be better to use a mono line and tungsten weights. the tungsten will give a little better relay on the bottom structure and help a little with sensitivity, which is the point of fluro. hope this helps.
Hane some good stuff from BassPro. Used it for leaders Striper Fishin and don't like it is to stiff for me.I know this is somewhat of a loaded question. No two fisherman ever agree on line. And I have fished with Dave S. and respect his opinion very much. He does not like fluoro. But when I hear the pro's talk they just slobber all over it. I know some of them are getting paid to say that, but like anyone else I would do almost anything to improve my catch. I wonder if I am missing out. I know I have saved a lot of money the last couple yrs. as it has been that long since I used it. I hated the stiffness then. What are your thoughts. Thanks, Tim
