does anybody fun fish anymore

Last Tuesday and wensday TR186man(aka andy) went to Nolin at my trailer on Brair Creek just to have fun fishing,,,,catch what ever we could. I went to get me a bunch of bluegills,,,this time of yr the big purple males are hitting. I pulled my flyrod out and after 4 or 5,,,,andy got his slip cork out with a pinch of night crawler on it and ,,,well I did,,,don`t know about Andy...lol...had a ball catching big purples males,,,brought home 25 to clean. There is nomore fun then to catch them on a popper. Watching them eaze up and give the popper the kiss of death,,,,if yeah no what I mean....made we feel like a kid again,,,but just about noon when we was to leave,,,we looked up and the bass started just busting the shad like crazy,,,we catched them around in a 50 yd area,,,but just like Huricane Bob ,,,I was always about 20ft short. but we had a ball,,,caught 20 or so between Andy and me,,,they hit anything you could get into the school....Andy was useing a spinner bait,,,me a fluke,,they killed, a spook pup,,,they killed,,,silver buddy,,,,they killed, just anything they killed,,,all of them 14-15 inches,,,and think some in the school was bigger,,,,but we had a ball....LOVE THAT FLYROD!!!!!!!

I ONLY fish for fun. Why else would anyone fish?

I do fun fish allot. I guess you mean as opposed to tourny fishing? I like them both but going out with the thought of catching whatever is biting is the best....especially schooling fish!!

I always fun fish, haven't fished a tournament in over 20 years. I wised up and figured out that it wasn't fun anymore.

well good to hear that some of use still love just to fish for the fun,,,I did the old Red Man tournys,,,,that was a waste of money,,,,I THOUGHT I could fish,,,,LOLOLOLOL...those boys put me back to the pond. Oh I enjoyed every minute of it,,,but just didn`t see any future in it...now I have won a few tournys,,,got lucky a few times,,,but man, can`t and wont buy a 30k boat,,,oh then the truck,,,another 30 k gas,,,half of bass pro,,,don`t get me wrong,,,man if I had the cash I`d be right in there,,,but as i get older,,,i`m turning into a kid again,,catching fish thru the cracks in the dock,,,playing with the gars,,,but best of all,,,got the flyrod out,,,started flyfishing when i was 6,,,thats all we did growing up,,,found girls,,,then cars,,,got married,,,back to fishing..lol,,,but didn`t pick the rod back up till a couple of years ago,,,this yr going to be like my buddy Van Vance God love him,,,,and try flyfishing for them stripers in the river,,,I watch him do it and laughed my butt off,,,watching him chase them down,,,,that looked like fun,,,,I know what a big gill fights like,,,,want to try on A STRIPER...LOL

That is the main reason I fish period is for fun and piece of mind. It's my church, my theorapy, my escape. Oh and yes Douglas when I fish I am a little boy again and I hope that feeling never leaves me.

Actually I am going to Nolin this weekend to try to catch bluegill. Please give me some information on how you caught them, i.e. type of banks, type of popper, etc.

Are the white bass running??

I used to fish exclusively for fun and started the tournament thing and am now mostly just fun fishing....

well i`ll tell you what,,,my place is in brair creek,,,go back brair,,,and almost all the banks have them on them,,,most the time we get our bigger ones of bluff banks that alittle deeper. I go with as small a popper that i can,,,so they can **** it in,,,i`ll be down there saturday night,,,staying for 5 days,,if your around that area i could show you whwere,,,no whites but the bass are in the jumps back in there,,,if anybody is down that way ,,,when you come in brair,,,don`t make the turn just come on in our cove and hollor at me,,,we have the last slip towards the back of the cove,,,pontoon and my little bassboat,,,say hi

If it gets to the point that fishing is no longer fun, then its time to take up golf, knitting, or some other hobby. I go to enjoy being out on the lake/river/creek/surf. Great way to unwind and enjoy the day/night.
