I do fun fish allot. I guess you mean as opposed to tourny fishing? I like them both but going out with the thought of catching whatever is biting is the best....especially schooling fish!!

I always fun fish, haven't fished a tournament in over 20 years. I wised up and figured out that it wasn't fun anymore.

well good to hear that some of use still love just to fish for the fun,,,I did the old Red Man tournys,,,,that was a waste of money,,,,I THOUGHT I could fish,,,,LOLOLOLOL...those boys put me back to the pond. Oh I enjoyed every minute of it,,,but just didn`t see any future in it...now I have won a few tournys,,,got lucky a few times,,,but man, can`t and wont buy a 30k boat,,,oh then the truck,,,another 30 k gas,,,half of bass pro,,,don`t get me wrong,,,man if I had the cash I`d be right in there,,,but as i get older,,,i`m turning into a kid again,,catching fish thru the cracks in the dock,,,playing with the gars,,,but best of all,,,got the flyrod out,,,started flyfishing when i was 6,,,thats all we did growing up,,,found girls,,,then cars,,,got married,,,back to fishing..lol,,,but didn`t pick the rod back up till a couple of years ago,,,this yr going to be like my buddy Van Vance God love him,,,,and try flyfishing for them stripers in the river,,,I watch him do it and laughed my butt off,,,watching him chase them down,,,,that looked like fun,,,,I know what a big gill fights like,,,,want to try on A STRIPER...LOL

That is the main reason I fish period is for fun and piece of mind. It's my church, my theorapy, my escape. Oh and yes Douglas when I fish I am a little boy again and I hope that feeling never leaves me.

Actually I am going to Nolin this weekend to try to catch bluegill. Please give me some information on how you caught them, i.e. type of banks, type of popper, etc.

well i`ll tell you what,,,my place is in brair creek,,,go back brair,,,and almost all the banks have them on them,,,most the time we get our bigger ones of bluff banks that alittle deeper. I go with as small a popper that i can,,,so they can **** it in,,,i`ll be down there saturday night,,,staying for 5 days,,if your around that area i could show you whwere,,,no whites but the bass are in the jumps back in there,,,if anybody is down that way ,,,when you come in brair,,,don`t make the turn just come on in our cove and hollor at me,,,we have the last slip towards the back of the cove,,,pontoon and my little bassboat,,,say hi

If it gets to the point that fishing is no longer fun, then its time to take up golf, knitting, or some other hobby. I go to enjoy being out on the lake/river/creek/surf. Great way to unwind and enjoy the day/night.

God is my church. God created all of these things that we all enjoy. I truly love fishing (tourney and ?fun?) and all the turtles, frogs, snakes,birds, deer, trees, honeysuckle, etc...
A man (or woman) can have fun fishing tourneys or just fishing. I fish hard and do pretty well at tourneys and just fishing. I won't fish a tourney any different that just fishing and I won't go fishing unless I fish it just as I would a tourney. My way of doing it, my wife, and kids love it too!! I'm just very thankful and feel very blessed to have the oppurtunities.

Life is great and some of the post below reminder me of my teen years using a fly rod to play with the Gills on our local lake. ..... And, before that, maybe a cane(sp) pole (or tree limb) with twine from the local butcher shop, bobber, and old hook and a fresh dug worm dug from the garden and a day at the local pond with that can of worms is where it all started for me; blue gills and shell crackers, don"t get much better for a young kid. Any one ever rember making a fish stringer out of a willow branch?

Got me Hooked until this day. My family and job have taken priority over fishing for the last 32 years, BUT NOW THAT THE WIFE AND I ARE RETIRED, I am playing catch up and also trying to learn some new tricks.

Definately having way too much FUN FISHING. First there the opportunity to share this GREAT HOBBY with the Grand Children. Then learning something about Striper Fishing and somehow catching a few keepers, and then the Walleye on LC and the Cumberland River below Wolf Creek....and did I mention the Spring Run of the White Bass into the Cumberland creeks. But then also, the winter season float and fly outings for SM, and then not to forget the spring bass fishing on our GREAT Kentucky lakes.

MAN, THERE IS JUST NOT ENOUGHT TIME FOR AN OLD MAN TO FISH!!! This hobby is just T"OOOOOO demanding. (From a 64 year old kid having FUN ...He..Haw...HAW..
