I'm not wanting to shoot the thing and yes I realize I'm in his house but I don't want the thing in my boat. The water has come down and I didn't see it today so maybe he went bask to the creek or one of the log jams he lives in. I will be carrying my little alumanum bat with me cause if he gets in the boat there aint gonna be kum by ya he's gettin whopped several times!!! Sorry if I ruffeled some feathers about asking how to defend myself against a wild animal but who would want this thing banging their boat or acting aggressive?? Not me, unless of course it was the other kind!!!LOL

I got shot by a beaver once. And I don't think it knew I was married at the time.
can i do anything to him if he comes in the boat or tries??[/QUOTE]
He probably slapped the boat to signal you were close too his den and he didn't like it. I've had beavers slap their tails in the water, close to my boat, in a couple Ohio River Creeks, and a couple times at Nolin. I doubt the beaver would ever try to get in the boat. If he were to come on board, I'd just drop kick him back to where he came from. The bat would work too.
I agree with you, an aggressive animal is just that, and you got every right to defend yourself if his warnings become an actually aggressive move.
Got a boat oar? If he slaps the water, just reach over the side and slap the water louder. He might figure he's messing with something he can't scare off and give up right then and there.
Well I knew it would happen with the save the Beavers campaign so I want to give an opinion on the furry little rascals. They are smart, family loyal, engineering specialist and are actually quite the cute little devils. I wish they could just be left alone to and we could all sing as you guys said.
They are also one of the most destructive creatures known to mankind. They are litterally destroying places in this state and elsewhere. Such as killing ancient Cotton wood trees by the hundreds at The Falls Of The Ohio. So much so that it looks like a tornado has went through in spots. They destroyed a local lake here in Oldham county where I live and too many other places to mention. They don't belong in some areas and should be trapped and relocated. Being a rodent yes a big Rat they fornucate and reproduce often and can quickly overpopulate an area and devisitate it. If I had a pond and they got in it destoying my property I wouldn't advertise it but let's just say they would not be there real long. Sorry I love animals but too much of a good thing will kill ya. Also who ever was the mental heavy weight that decided to re-introduce them to the Falls and other areas need mental evaluation. All just my humble 2 cents.
I feel the delete button looming near............
I still say AR-15.
Ward, June and Wally Cleaver had this same problem many years ago......HAHAHA
A colt .45 will take care of him......... Or if you would like to let him live next time he comes next to your boat catch him with a net.![]()
Lets try to keep it clean.
Andrew
Just got off the water...the post is gone. Got better things to do with my time than babysit folks that can't abide by the board rules and want to put things on here that kids should not be reading...next time it will be more than just deleting posts.
