Hey Scott e-mail Andrew and ask how they fight on striper tackle, lol.I tell you what, there is nothing that will make your heart skip a beat more than a beaver busting you at night while striper fishing. It's the ones you don't see that will rattle your nerves. As for your pest problem, I would check local regs on what you can and can't do. Rooster would like nothing more than to take some of your hard earned money because you killed it out of season or some such nonsense.
Hit the plug like a ton of bricks and pulled the drag pretty well! "Ok, thats weird" "What", "Its on the bank", "You mean up shallow", "No, I mean on the bank, like 20 feet up into the woods!". yeah, that was a weird night
Andrew
Why not just let it be. Remember your in it's house, How would you like it if this beaver came to your house, Knocked on your door, then shot you with a AR 15. That would really blow would it not..
Think I agree with Fishunter. Yes, I've encoutered beaver on the Ohio river and on Lake Cumberland, and as always, I've appreciated and enjoying viewing firshand the diversity of wildlife whe have in Kentucky. Hope my grandchildren get the same opportunity. So, hey...he (the beaver) gave you a BAD LOOK... Think about sharing a fish or two with him and you just might become BEST FRIENDS. Take along a CAMERA, and capature a few photo's to share with the family.
Best to You and the Beaver...Keep on Fishing...but as Fishunter pointed out, rember, you are in his house.

Kumbaya my lord, Kumbaya
Let that poor old beaver be
I'm not wanting to shoot the thing and yes I realize I'm in his house but I don't want the thing in my boat. The water has come down and I didn't see it today so maybe he went bask to the creek or one of the log jams he lives in. I will be carrying my little alumanum bat with me cause if he gets in the boat there aint gonna be kum by ya he's gettin whopped several times!!! Sorry if I ruffeled some feathers about asking how to defend myself against a wild animal but who would want this thing banging their boat or acting aggressive?? Not me, unless of course it was the other kind!!!LOL

I got shot by a beaver once. And I don't think it knew I was married at the time.
